840 Venture Partners, a nascent NYC-based venture capital fund focused on FinTech and Future of Work, announces an investment in data science company Revelio Labs. Backed by Barclays, K20 Fund, and BDMI, Revelio is a workforce intelligence company which has created the world’s first universal HR database. Customers including asset managers, corporations, consultants, and researchers use Revelio Labs’ data and analytics tools to better understand the workforce dynamics of specific companies and industries. Since its founding in 2018, Revelio has quickly established itself as a leader in the field of human capital data.
Revelio Labs fits directly into a core area of 840VP’s investment thesis: data-driven intelligence which sits at the intersection of FinTech and Future of Work. This area is poised for explosive growth over the next decade and will have synergies with other companies in 840VP’s growing portfolio. The rationale for this investment is well-supported by Revelio’s rapid revenue growth, broad potential customer base, and inherent scalability.
“Revelio checked many boxes for us in terms of what we look for,” said 840VP General Partner Benjamin Reiter. “First and foremost, its technology stands out in an underserved area of Big Data. Even at this early stage, it is filling a large market gap and surpassing its competitors. Additionally, Revelio’s products address highly diverse use cases and the team does a great job of demonstrating that. Lastly, we’re extremely impressed with CEO Ben Zweig and his team -- they exhibit both great technical skill and the ability to consistently execute.”
Revelio’s technology absorbs, extracts, and standardizes data from millions of public employment records worldwide. Among Revelio’s product offerings are a self-service dashboard and a screener tool, enabling clients to analyze human capital data on a company or industry level in a highly granular manner. Proceeds from this seed capital raise will be used to improve and expand Revelio’s product offerings in order to reach new business segments.
